Upto a balmy seven degrees in Llandegla today although the lake is still half frozen and still lots of snow around. No adders yet ,infact just one solitary common lizard on a bank where soon there will be hundreds .Still its a start. It is alive ,just looks a bit like I did a couple of weeks ago after my 40th.

Hi Dave,

I see there is possibly some evidence of predation here, judging by the lack of the distal portion of tail and scarring arounf the base of the tail.

I saw my first Common Lizard of the year, which was out basking on the dead braken at my local Adder site.

you lost an appendage on your 40th then dave? sorry to hear that.
Robs pic looks like a female to me - with its slightly "flattened" torso.

I haven't looked yet and to be honest, I haven't got motivation to do so at the moment.  I don't know why.
